Dilettante

it. - a person who cultivates an area of interest, such as the arts or literature, without real commitment or knowledge.

edit: there's nothing wrong with being a dilettante (unless you're ignorant about it). This is just a definition of a new word I found and thought I would write it down.

Dilettantes are not ignoramuses. They are interested in a field without being experts in that field, and they know they are not experts. Whereas ignorant persons think they know it all. It's their ignorance that makes them think they are experts.
