Why the GED hate?

Seriously, I get jobs and had a few high paying ones. Why the negative ill towards GED? The staff and students were being disrespectful and spreading rumors after my suicide attempt there, so, bye bye.

To do any kind of industrial driven work, a bachelors is minimum what job world asks if you want to get good salary. I’d say get some further education or develop some special skills and prove in the interviews that you can do what their trained staffs can. Sadly no one wants to waste time training staffs these days.

@SW-User I found a decent job that pays $9 an hour, plus with my art selling on the side.

Graduates are getting paid 90-200/hr depending on their abilities.. My first salary was a 6 digit one/ year. With $9/hr you will always be struggling to pay your bills. Life would never stabilize and after 20 years you’d be more of less be around the same rate or a bit higher. Outsiders are getting better jobs because they have better education than our own people. We need to change that. @MissLlyn

@SW-User My mother graduated and still cant get a job that easy or that high.

They look for experience. I'm not paying a cent for college right now i cant afford it.

Fair enough and also depends on what field you graduate in. Most future jobs would be tech jobs. I think you said art. If you are good at painting, I’d say train yourself in some graphic design and other softwares where you can utilize your art skills. That doesn’t need college. We have a few people working with us with no education beyond high school and we employed them. There are a lot of jobs in the Bay Area and the east coast NYC area that employ people with skills and no education or experience. @MissLlyn

@SW-User yeah. I'm still thinking about college, but later. I'm in a program that can help pay for it.
