Well, he already knows trying to escape from something through alcohol ain't gonna last.. And I think only he can be the one to decide when he's tired... And when he's tired, he'll eventually get tired of being tired and find the strength to break it!! ......... Well, in a perfect world maybe but.. Eh.. Not really much anyone can do to assuage him until he's ready.. idk.. Could go the hard route like my mom who would lock me in my room for a month if I was addicted to alcohol... ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ •ʔ/

There is no shame in calling an addict an addict. The road to recovery begins by telling the truth.

@bearinthebigbluehouse I deal with addicts on a daily basis. The ones who recover are the ones who can be honest about their addictions. Those who can not be honest about their addictions never recover.

He would try and hide his alcohol consumption with gum smh @hippyjoe1955

@Guitarist07 That is very typical of an addict. He knows the truth but he is trying to hide it from you and himself.

Does he realize it's a problem?

I don’t think so... we haven’t talked since April. No phone no job on the street smh...
same behavior has my ex... who is still a meth addict... I guess once you meet an addict you actually can depict and figure out the same behavior huh? @WeighedDown

@Guitarist07 in my experience most addicts use substances to numb deep emotional pain until that pain is addressed relapse is inevitable
