Societies' expectations are immature and ignorant for the most part. If the majority who follow suit with society are the same majority who depend on anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medications then not following the lead of society is most likely why I am in the minority of North Americans who do not need these medications.

@Anonymartyr I've suffered from anxiety and depression from a very young age due to ptsd but I've never used medication. I find those pills to be another form of control from the government.
@JovialPlutonian Anxiety or depression like any physical symptom is like a warning light on a cars dashboard. When the brake light indicates a problem with he brakes one does not go to a mechanic and get the indicator light disabled, they get their brakes checked. Chronic anxiety or depression is worse than just myth it is a blatant lie. Depression and anxiety are most often the product of believing that they must live up to a standard that even the people who set the standard cannot. Its not the governments, its the chemical companies who actually own a lot of governments by owning the global economy through the stock market.
Only you can know what is right for you, only you can set your own standard to live up to.
Ever wonder why the wealthy always tell you that money is the key to happiness yet they never seem all that happy? They are invariably miserable to all their subordinates because they are the most disappointed. Nearly 100% of the wealthiest people in the world are prescribed these medications. Fiction depicts these people as happy but reality shows that they quickly become drug, alcohol or sex addicts and always need bigger more outrageous thrills just to "break even" with the stress of acquiring all the money, trappings and status symbols that pleased today and become boring the next.

@Anonymartyr they think they need more to be happy when really they need to educate themselves on what true happiness is. What's funny is they're closer than they realise, if only they could share the masses they have obtained, they'd feel true happiness
@JovialPlutonian Exactly.
