Depending on which version of English you are learning, there is a difference in the acceptability of 'write me'. In American English it sounds right, as in Simon and Garfunkel's 'Why don't you write me?' (the 'to' is understood). To an English person, it doesn't sound quite right; to us,'write to me' sounds better.
