Why do vegans say humans are herbivores?

If we're herbivores how do we get b12? B12 is not found in plants. And why do we have stomach acid that secrets protease?

They don't say humans are herbivores. They say that we can choose to be herbivores and live a healthy, ethical life as a result.

They ain't wrong, even though I happily eat meat.
