Is anyone here old enough to remember when TV’s first started becoming a common household item?

I’m wondering how long it took for the television to become a priority over conversation. Like, how it became acceptable to say, “Quiet, I can’t hear the TV”.

Different places will have different answers but I'd say the 70s was when TVs became less of a luxury and more a necessity. Shows like Happy Days, MASH, The Brady Bunch, Charlie's Angels etc were produced and everyone was watching them
