Should kids go barefoot for school?

I've read about some places doing this before, and it seems like an interesting idea. Maybe they'd feel more comfortable and be ready to learn more? Would it help for gym? Thoughts?

We never went barefoot in gym

@SW-User We did for marching band once to focus on how we were moving our toes, etc. and practice doing that better. Also, many people wore flip flops often, so just took them off to practice marching when it was allowed. (If shoes were required, they'd just change into them and go back to sandals for the rest of the day if there was school, so a lot of us didn't wear socks anyway.) As for gym, one year it included swimming, so obviously we were barefoot for that, but I've read a lot about schools doing other parts of physical education barefoot.
