Which would you think is better? First study towards a degree in a particular field but possibly not ending up working in that field

or first getting a job, then studying in the field which is directly relevant to your job?

Obviously this does not apply to certain fields, but lets leave those fields for the purposes of simply answering this question?

I have never thought a University education should be synonymous with a trade school and even if a person is sure of his chosen field they should be given a broader education . In the eighties businesses found it was easier to teach a Liberal Arts major "business" than teaching Business majors a broader vie of life. This is a fairly long video....so if you don't watch it no worries! I found it interesting

@bookerdana For a similar reason I am doing a degree in general business management/administration because it includes ALL aspects of any business, thus making it easier for me to fit in anywhere.

I chose not to specialise in a particular field for this very reason. I hate limitations.
