Why do some people insert an apostrophe into the word "its"?

@Carla Well, I have zero patience with people who criticize others grammar, spelling etc. It's a pet peeve of mine. I may overreact from time to time when I read words/judgments like yours. There are several reasons why people might not do these things correctly and when someone is outraged by it without knowing whether or not English is there first language or they are challenged somehow it bugs me...I don't think it's fair. Really, how does it impact YOUR life?

@Carla "What do they hope to gain from it?" Why ask that? Leave people alone....if I understand what they are saying ..in spite of things like this...that is all that matters. Sorry, you seem like a decent person...I just wish people would leave people alone if they are not impacting anyone else's life. I see it as petty
