What would you consider a "Useless" University/College Degree and why?

Are any useless?
It is not just the content of the degree to consider here. It is also about receiving the tools of understanding your own learning capabilities. How you structure reports, essays, present findings, form arguments.

Also university life is an important life experience.

If you are spending time in education to better yourself how can that ever be useless?

@InOtterWords The last book I read, the author admitted she only attended because she felt she needed to become an author. She hated the taut, superficial ways that only felt designed to her to be there for her professors to alleviate themselves from the world. In the world of literature, and academia that is possible. I otherwise agree.

@InOtterWords There is a huge debate about not wasting time doing so called "useless" degrees and focusing on degrees which provide training in skills which are scarce in the economy... different for each country of course...

So this is why some say certain degrees... even Business degrees... are useless 🤷‍♂️

@iMystery so, if for example there was an abundance of marine biologists, and no more were needed (hypothetically) but a shortage of plumbers those peiple should do something more useful like plumbing rather than marine biology, even if it is their true calling?

Who would decide what is practical and what is useless?

@iMystery They don't have the same goals. Training is teaching someone how to do a specific job, and education is teaching someone about the world. Practical application is not a requirement for education, whereas it's pretty much the primary requirement for training.
