Was college really easier back in the 90's and before, I know it was cheaper but was it easier?

College resembles high school these days, or middle school. You get x points for doing your homework, y points for answering questions in class. Where'd that come from? When I was in college, you did those things in order to learn, not to earn points. And if you didn't do those things, your exam scores certainly reflected your lack of effort!

@SomeAreBoojums Oh boy our exams are hard if you don't go to lecture properly do your readings, make good notes, review your notes and homework you fail. Not all classes count coming to class as a grade, you have to actually speak in some classes to get participation points. And in some classes, you have quizzes based on your reading for that day, which can have multiple choice and free choice. Teacher ain't fooling around, they know if you haven't read the material. Its community college and some of the professors that teach freshman level classes that make college seem like high school or middle school.
