Why do so many people pay £9250 a year for university and then not turn up to the classes?

Probably because they have no real idea of the value of money. They get offered a loan from the government on which interest is charged and it takes years and years to pay it off.... unless of course you earn very little for the following 30 years in which case the whole loan is written off.
