how many people...

do you think are out there that are inquisitive, curious, and have deep understandings of really interesting topics, or maybe have really impressive practical skills, yet unfortunately in a school environment are treated as dumb or stupid because they dont excel in your "typical" school subjects?

like : "oh yes, my son/daughter was able to complete {insert challenging game here} at age 10, can name any animal just by the sound of their call/cry, and can recite a deeper knowledge of Greek mythology than any library, But they failed their maths exams last year, and couldnt sit still for even half an hour to write up a decent research paper, so we are putting them down a year."

I think this is associated with a disorder of some kind.
They didn't know about it when I was growing up, you got your ass beat senseless and studied all day everyday until you moved out.
Don't know the name.

@Groofydorkgerdo i think its less of a disorder and more a group of more creative people that wanna create, understand or explore, but are forced to learn in a way that just makes some kids shut down, i suffer from a bad attention span, so school was torture

@HeWhoLaughs But do you know what I am refer to?
I remember reading or hearing something to that regard sometime ago.
