I know only a few Japanese words like arigato, sayonara, but would like to know more.
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
Sorry - the only things I know is some words and signs in American sign language, a few words in Spanish, English and the German I am learning online with two other SW people.

If you want to learn more Japanese, ask on the Community signon and ask if anyone knows Japanese and will help you or if anyone knows a post you can go into online to study this.

I am already doing that now - in a way. I have a friend on this site who wants to improve his English. In return, he is teaching me his native language (German). Everybody benefits all the way around!
@MaryJanine Glad to know :)

@MaryJanine There's a site called interpals. Alotta eager learners there.

I appreciate your "heads-up" on this site. I may check it out as a matter of curiosity. But I have been at this German/Englisch translation for a number of years (German is a hard language to learn and retain) and he has returned the favor by perfecting his English in reading my stories and posts. He is a patient teacher, and a good one, too.

@SimplyLogicalDiscipline well its true I tried to teach my sister to cook she didn't get it within the hour and I turned incredible hulk on her. And then said fuck of out my kitchen.

We didn't learn our native language instantly, either. We learned by "peat and repeat" as my late mother used to say. But not everyone is cut out to be a patient teacher, either. The German I began to learn was for two reasons - 1.) my last name is definitely German, and I thought it would be educational. and 2.)seeing posts from my "teacher" in partial German made me curious as to what it was in English. We more or less agreed to teach each other and have been doing it since.

I teach the Irish language to 4 year olds.
They are always eager and keen to learn. Pity it's such a dead language 😢
@Dusty101 4 year olds awww cute, lucky you :)
Dusty101 · F
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline sometimes I wonder... 😂
Shine · 22-25, F
Yes of course. :)

I would be happy to teach Japanese to a friend.
@Shine I would like to learn :)
@Shine It was a Number ONE song in the US in 1963. Good thing it is translated as all these years(I predate this release!) I never knew what he said- but I knew it was sad.
