Do you think the english language will get shorter?

I've heard the next standard of the english language will include fewer letters. Do you think that's true?

I don't know about letters, but I think less words are being used and will be used even less in the future.
In other languages, though, more and more English words are being used, due to globalization.

@HannibalAteMeOut well I guess it's easier to use fewer words. I just hope it doesn't suffer through bad translation errors

@AllTheMissinNo I don't think that's a problem for English, since it's spoken by basically everyone in the world more or less, so it will always be translated correctly, I guess. But as for words getting fewer, it saddens me a lot, but that's only because I admire lexicological wealth and I find interest in words, etymology and the feeling each one of those can convey.
