Do you consider this offensive?

I was in bed and having a conversation with my fiance, I mentioned how he is very helpful and out of the blue he said I was a 100 times more nicer to my ex! Wow how petty how could he take away such a lovely sentiment. Why would he say such a thing would you slap him of you were in my place?

I wouldn't slap him, but I would take it as maybe a warning sign... Someone below has already said he sounds insecure, I'd agree with that... He maybe one of those people who need constant attention ...
