Addicted to an opiod (such as hydrocodone or oxycontin?)

If you want to quit, here is a little- known secret. There is a simple little blood pressure pill called Clonidine that will virtually wipe away any withdrawal symptoms.

The pharmaceuticals don't want you to know this as they are pushing withdrawal meds. that are way expensive. Most any Doc. will script these as they aren't intrusive. (unless of course, you have low blood pressure) Check with a Doc. first!

Would it work for any drug withdrawals? Like cocaine? Or just opiates?
@SW-User I can't offer an informed opinion on that, it would be interesting to find out though.

@Coyotedave611 I know there’s treatments for opioid addictions but would be cool if they could come up with treatments for other substances too especially coke and meth which are just as addictive.
Since I've never done either meth or coke, haven't looked into either of these in terms of a treatment. I do understand these are much harder to treat than the opiods. Hope you can locate an addiction professional who can help you. I wish you all the luck in the world!

@Coyotedave611 oh no I’ve been clean off the coke for over a year, and handled it pretty well except for the early stages lol. Because that drug itself has had its fair share of equal problems as heroin I’m just intrigued that they don’t come up with treatments as such. I have been addicted to heroin too and gave that up without methadone or any medical treatment and heroin for me was a lot easier to kick than the coke.
Congratulations on your recovery. Sadly, seems like Docs. all over the US have become so damned paranoid because of the pressure and actual threats from DEA, they seem to avoid helping sincere folks like us.

@Coyotedave611 I think they want to keep us addicted just quietly.
I'm just glad I have a great pain management doc. who isn't afraid to treat me with the opiods I need for chronic pain. For me, it means habituation for the rest of my life. I have a titanium rod in my spine, the pain can be excruciating so for me, it's a quality of life issue. I love my Docs expression to me, "As long as I'm around David, FUCK the DEA!" gotta love him for that!
