Addicted to an opiod (such as hydrocodone or oxycontin?)

If you want to quit, here is a little- known secret. There is a simple little blood pressure pill called Clonidine that will virtually wipe away any withdrawal symptoms.

The pharmaceuticals don't want you to know this as they are pushing withdrawal meds. that are way expensive. Most any Doc. will script these as they aren't intrusive. (unless of course, you have low blood pressure) Check with a Doc. first!

Lofexidine, a structural analogue of clonidine, may be safer and more effective as an opiate detoxification treatment. It has similar withdrawal-suppressing actions but causes little hypotension and sedation. Although clonidine and lofexidine may be highly effective in helping opiate addicts achieve initial abstinence, a multi-modality aftercare treatment approach including naltrexone and psychotherapy may be necessary to maintain an abstinent state.

@Tatsumi Now that's what I call an informed observation. I myself am habituated (not addicted) I use Clonidine for med. holidays once or twice a year. My spine pain is acute/chronic so for me, it's a quality of life issue. Thanks for a great post sir!

@Coyotedave611 You might also consider kratom. It's more effective at killing pain than morphine--but is much safer. Look into it. You might like what you find. It's legal in most states, but a couple have banned it, for very stupid reasons.

@Tatsumi Tried Kratom once many years ago, it really had no effect whatsoever but I was pretty ignorant about dosing, right route, etc. Also, there were so many brands and types offered. I live in Ca. so not sure if it's legal here or not. Kindly advise me if you can, I'd be willing to try this again.

@Coyotedave611 Absolutely. TauntonBaySoapCompany is a good company to get good quality for cheap. Dose should range from 3 to 10 grams. Capsules are easiest, because it tastes bitter as hell. You can make your own with 000 caps and a cap 'em quik.
