I believe what he says that he wants protection of own industry but open boarders for the US companies in the countries where they operate. That's not free trade. Actually protection should be the first that goes. Theory is that the fittest and most innovative companies will survive. Worth a thought, no?

@SapphicHeart Yes he knows business and that’s why his #MAGA caps are made in China.
We somehow need get US businesses to invest in new manufacturing plants and become competitive. I don’t necessarily mean less expensive but better at a similar price. For example, I believe New Balance produces athletic shoes in the USA but they use inferior material to lower cost I think. Their shoes aren’t very good.
