@helenS The number of girls taking A-level physics in 2016 is 7645, representing 21.6% of all entrants in the subject. There has been little change between 2015 and 2016, when 21.5% of entrants into A-level physics were girls.

@Paddy888888 Yes I know many girls prefer something that’s apparently less demanding. Unfortunately.

@helenS A recent OECD study found that girls lacked confidence in science and maths, even when their results were as good or better than boys’. In programme for international student assessment (Pisa) scores, UK girls perform worse in science than boys, with the gap being much bigger than in other countries.

@helenS You mean you don't see gender as a barrier, completely agree....completely about confidence...its parents and society to blame.
