Do you have to read instructions/directions more than once to understand what you need to do?

I hate being a slow-learner

no as a rule if I've seen it done once ,I remember the procedure
if I haven't seen it done I look over the instructions
but most things are common sense .
Caterpillar Inc. ,they won't even sell you a tech manual for some engines ,
they want only their people working on their engines ,and they have hidden retainers and pins and snap rings to make them so the average mechanic can just tear into their stuff .and often you need special tools for reassembly .
So I bought an engine from a scrap yard and set out to find them all .
and I did some damage finding them ,
but once I knew the mindset of the designer ,now I can find them all
As my Dad taught me ,there is more than one way to skin a cat ,,get it
