Ever see other kids get the slipper at school?

Getting the slipper from the gym teacher was a regular occurrence at school. It was often done in a light-hearted manner but she had a strong arm and it didn't half sting. However, it was great fun watching other girls get it especially if they were good-two-shoes.
I remember one such occasion when to hurry us up changing she said the last one out would get the slipper. One of ours girls named Annette, a really studious and well behaved girl, mysteriously found a certain part of her underwear was missing, no doubt hidden by an ill-intentioned girl as a prank, and by the time she found it she was last out.
Miss was waiting at the changing room door for her and despite all her protestations, Annette had to touch her toes and get a whack with the slipper. She gave a yell has the slipper made a resounding sound on her bottom and came out very red-faced with a few tears in her eyes, to be comforted by her friend. As for the rest of us it had been a welcome light entertainment before we went to class.

SOmeone got got the slipper just about every day at school. One teacher, Mr Thomas, was very keen on slippering boys. He was mentally unstable
@mazza62 It was like that at my school. It was almost certain that at least one boy or girl in my class would get the slipper.

it happened so often that we did't bat an eyelid when someone got it. we got desensitised. Of the person who got it, his bottom wasn't desensitised.
@mazza62 We got it so often I think our bottoms were desensitized to some extent at least. None of us, boy or girl, were worried by the prospect a slippering so it lost its deterrent effect.

@NortiusMaximus it is true that any fear of a whacking that we had when starting school soon faded with familiarity. Having to bend over became an occupational hazard that we regarded as much less of an issue than, say, the various jabs we received from the school nurse - those needles really worried us.
@jackcros Good point about the injections. I'd forgotten about that. They must have been so traumatic my mind has blanked them out.

The slipper, as you say, was just an occupational hazard.
