How do people willingly not want to go to college?

I mean it's expensive and that definitely is enough reason not to go, but if you have the ability to go why not? I just don't understand and I hate that excuse of "my dad didn't go and he turned out alright", yeah that was 20 years ago and now the economy changed and even if you have an undergrad college degree you might not get hired so you should aim higher in your education. Idk. Maybe i'm lacking insight in this currently.

Depends on the times, in the 90s there were a lot of jobs popping up for college educated people now there are more college educated people than jobs for them. Sure it makes sense if you're going to make it big to take a higher education but if you're just going to make a couple hundred more than average joe and put in the same amount of workhours...doesn't it seem like a lot of wasted time that you could have spent moving your life along? There are too many people overqualified and underpaid that regret not doing something else with their youth so don't be too quick to judge.

Actually yes there are. Look at a factory how many engineers vs how many handlers and cleaners ? A store how many managers vs how many sales people restockers etc? Just use logic there is no way to have more brains than hands. There are very few job areas where the whole the majority of personel needs a degree (IT, Marketing) in the rest people with degrees are at the top while the majority rest are workers with jobs that only require highschool or professional or technical education not college degrees. Look at hospitals for example and count how many are actually college graduates vs how many just have nursing school technician education etc but not an actual university graduation.
It's a simple thing: We can't all be in charge some have to execute the orders as well.
