September 11, 2019) was an American singer-songwriter and artist regarded as a significant figure in outsider, lo-fi, and alternative music scenes.[1][2] Most of his work consisted of cassettes recorded alone in his home,[4] and his music was frequently cited for its "pure" and "childlike" qualities.[5]

@dubkebab I can not imagine what it was like for his parents especially!! The story about what happened when he was off his meds to play a show and he ended up scaring a poor elderly woman so badly she jumped out of her 2nd story window ?!?! Geez 😳 The plane crash yikes !! He just tossed the keys out the window and took the controls away from his own father. And they were barely able to walk away from it. Totaled his fathers plane. I don’t want to give away how because that’s what you should watch it for but it’s insane!! Double geez 😳😳 He was a talented person and seemed to possess that kind of genius that’s very close to insanity. I’m fascinated by him atm. 🤓
@LegendofPeza I recommend it now that I’ve seen it. It’s definitely a good documentary with plenty of media taken directly from the recordings and 8mm movies of Mr Johnston. And some of the more colorful recollections from his family and friends. I recommend this doc, highly.
