I Hate Women Who Hit Men And Always Get Away With It

I attended a "domestic" last night. The victim required transport to hospital but his injuries weren't life threatening - lacerations and a suspected fracture. His wife even tried to attack us but the police held her off.

I hope she's charged but, judging from the attitude of the police there, I doubt she wiil be.

Most of the domestic violence that happens in my neighbourhood is caused by men, but there are instances of women doing it and those never seem to be taken seriously. Everyone assumes the guy is stronger which isn't always the case.

@SW-User Most of the domestic violence you know about is caused by men. What about all the incidents that are kept quiet because the victim knows he won't be believed or taken seriously?

@Sharon Are you suggesting that most of the domestic violence is cause by women?

@SW-User No, all the studies have found it's about 50:50.

I would add that a lot of violence caused by women goes unnoticed. Who would take much notice if a well dressed woman slapped a man's face? What about when he slapped her back?

@Sharon My cousin is a Paremedic in town. She attends domestic violence indidence almost every night. She says that in nearly every incident it's the woman that requires medical attention not the guy. Why would this be if it was 50/50? I'm the first one to agree that there is a lot of assaults that go unreported by guys, but seriously, the incidence of male violence against female violence is well documented. Just look at the murder statistics. How many women stalk and kill their male partners vs males who stalk and kill their female partners? The overwhelming majority of domestic violence assaults are commented in my town by drug or alcohol fueled males and I suspect the stats are similar elsewhere.

@SW-User I'm a paramedic in the UK. I get called to about twice as many domestic incidents involving a male victim as I do to those involving a female victim. Part of the reason for that is that we only get called to a male victim if he's seriously injured. In the majority of incidents I've attended involving female victims, her injuries are superficial.

Another factor is that the police will step in to protect a woman before she's injured. It's said, with some justification, that she only has to claim her male partner looked at her in a funny way to get him arrested. Male victims, on the other hand, are left to fend for themselves and the police only step in after she's nearly (or sometime actually) killed him.

The incidence of female violence against male partners goes undocumented because the police routinely refuse to accept reports from male victims. My own husband was a victim of his former wife. He often suffered serious injuries but the police point blank refused to assist, even when there were independent witnesses. None of the incidents are recorded as crimes but that doesn't mean they didn't occur.
