I Hate Women Who Hit Men And Always Get Away With It

I attended a "domestic" last night. The victim required transport to hospital but his injuries weren't life threatening - lacerations and a suspected fracture. His wife even tried to attack us but the police held her off.

I hope she's charged but, judging from the attitude of the police there, I doubt she wiil be.

Why doesn't he leave her? Is he scared of her?
Sharon · F
@Spoiledbrat Probably the same reason female victims don't leave. Also, where would he go? Male victims of domestic abuse don't have the support network that female victims do.

@Spoiledbrat I have no idea. It could be the first time it's happened. There might have been previous incidents but I don't know of any. I'm not aware of any domestic abuse shelters for men in the area, I believe the nearest is two counties away.

The real question of course is why won't the police take action. I believe they now have the power to remove the offender from the home, even if they don't charge her, but, as was predicted, they'll only use that power against men.
It's rare that a man is scared of a woman. Also woman don't typically stalk men. That's why there are fewer shelters.@Spoiledbrat
That's because males aren't typically the victim of domestic abuse. @Sharon

@Spoiledbrat It's not as rare as you seem to think. Remember, a man is defenceless against a violent woman. If he even attempts to defend himself he immediately becomes"the abuser" and the police will not hesitate to charge him.

Before stalking became a criminal offence (Protection From Harassment Act 1997) the majority of injuctions issused in the civil courts were taken out by men against female stalkers. Since it became a criminal offence, so the police decide who to prosecute, the majority of prosecutions are against men. Why do you think the situation reversed like that? The only explanation I have is the institutional sexisim of the prosecuting authorities.

A major reason for fewer shelters is lack of funding. Local authorities provide some funding for women's shelters but not for men's. That's why the vast majority of homeless people are men, perhaps those who did leave violent female partners) and part of the reason the male suicide rate is four times that of the female rate.

@Spoiledbrat All the independent, academic and peer reviewed studies into domestic abuse have found that men are just as likely to be victims of female partners as vice versa.

Try http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20110218135832/http:/rds.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/pdfs/hors191.pdf for a start. It's quite old but more recent studies produce similar results.
There are cases where women have committed violent crimes but with weapons. @Sharon
Sharon · F
@Spoiledbrat That was one of the findings, that women are more likely to employ a weapon - which implies premeditation.
Domestic abuse alone, yes but I'm talking about a man being seriously threatened by a woman, That is rare. @Sharon
It's usually because their husband cheated. Not that that makes it acceptable. @Sharon
Sharon · F
@Spoiledbrat Not as rare as you seem to think.
Sharon · F
@Spoiledbrat What happened to the old mantra - there is never an excuse? Or does that only apply to male abusers?
You lost me. @Sharon
Men kill woman too and for the same reason. I thought we talking about domestic violence and why there aren't more safe houses for men. I was saying that men are typically physically stronger and more territorial. I'm also not from the U.K. @Sharon
Sharon · F
@Spoiledbrat By saying "It's usually because their husband cheated." you appear to be trying to excuse a woman's violence. In the UK we often see posters about how there is never an excuse for domestic abuse but they always show a female victim of a male abuser. This sort of implies men never have an excuse but women do.

The reason there is almost no provision for male victims is mainly lack of funding. Local authorities have to give priority to people (men as well as women) made homeless as a result of domestic abuse. As the police refuse to take male victims seriously, the crime isn't recorded. Therefore, the local authority can deny the man is a priority and refuse to provide assistance.

Is doesn't matter whether men are typically stronger than women, a male victim of domestic abuse is still a victim and a dead man isn't less dead than a dead woman.
See above. I didn't read your entire last reply. I don't think it's okay to abuse people. I don't care the gender. @Sharon

@Spoiledbrat im living proof that males can be badly affected by domestic violence when the women is the perpetrator. Here's my experience. Happy reading https://similarworlds.com/194448-I-Hate-Women-Who-Hit-Men-And-Always-Get-Away-With/1148634-I-might-add-a-story-of-a-past-experience-rather
I have never said that males couldn't be affected. @SW-User

@Spoiledbrat i know, just thought this will help you see it from a male victims point of view. Because a stupid conformed sheepish society says men are always the bad guys, and of course their expectations of men are to just "man up and cop it".
I have never said that. I was just trying to point out that men and women typically behave differently. i don't think all men are bad at all. @SW-User
OJ Simpson murdered his wife and got away with it. I don't discredit your reply, however. And I'll read your post as soon as I get a chance.

@Spoiledbrat yeah well I was nearly killed twice by my ex fiancé. Once I ws strangled and she could have killed me and herself in our car. Obviously you were too biest to read my story. That's ok. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. You are only going by your info by statistics. You never seen doco about women who kill? They are out there, wether you have a dick or vag it doesn't matter, any human being is just as capable.
I am not ignorant. I am moving. @SW-User
A man is not always defenseless against a violent woman. Some men leave their wives when they become unhappy. Some men hit their wives back. Where would he go? I don't know. I couldn't answer that question and I haven't gotten the impression that you know that he has no where to go. You even even said yourself that you're not sure how far back the abuse goes, if at all. When I think of the word "abuse" I think of something that is ongoing. However, I use that word to refer to unacceptable behavior all of the time. I think what caused me to respond to thus thread is that you don't seem to know much about these people. (That's why I asked ). My mother in law hit me twice and I didn't press charges because I was living there. Otherwise I would have even though she is a 73 years old woman. I resented that she treated me with such disrespect BUT she couldn't really harm me because she is old and I am not. I am also taller and stronger than her. I felt her behavior abusive but I do have a choice not to go there again and I won't. I have never once said that woman can't be abusive towards men. In the case of my mother in law, her behavior was abusive but she was beating me. I had control and I exercised it. I did not hit her back but I did go back either. @Sharon

@Spoiledbrat
OJ Simpson murdered his wife and got away with it.
What do you mean? If he was acyuitted of murder, he did not murder her. Don't you have the doctrine of innocent until proven guilty in your jurisdiction?
