how should you respond to someone you don't know, who addresses you as if they know you

like they act 'over familiar' with you, when you don't know that person,and they do not know you, and this just happened on a previous post of mine with someone & this always annoys me and i take offence by it.

any ideas on how to deal with it?

Most likely they think they know you because they think you are someone else they know here. Don’t put too much thought into it. Just ask them do they know you. 🙂
