I tell them that they're rude for correcting people's spelling, punctuation, and grammar when those individuals didn't ask for their help. They usually tell me that I was wrong for typing lay down instead of lie down. Then I tell them that two things can be true at the same time. I made an error, and they're also rude.

@Chris00987 I totally understand. One thing that I’ve often seen is where people don’t recognize differences between UK and U.S. English and make a point of "correcting" spellings and/or pronunciations, because of their ignorance, not the poster’s. 🙁
