I Hate Political Correctness

@StevetheSleeve The woman. It's like the Muslim girl that matriculated at Boston College. After she started at the school, she petitioned the school to remove the crucifixes from the classrooms. It's a Catholic college. In both cases they have rules about how they do things. If you don't like the rules, don't join.

@HoraceGreenley Rules within churches seem very bendable. Most major religions have adapted over the years to changing societal norms. It makes me wonder about the validity of their faith to begin with that their beliefs can be so flexible, but that's just one minor thing that makes me doubt their validity.

@StevetheSleeve I agree with you there. Changing the rules midstream is paints the organization in poor light.

@StevetheSleeve a woman preacher is not a minor thing. Timothy 2:12 states I suffer not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over men but to be silent

@Mountainlady16 I never suggested it was a minor issue. My point is, the woman should have expected this result.

@StevetheSleeve Bible doesn't change just because world does. And actually my denomination and a close cousin I guess you call it are growing faster than the US population cause we don't use bc

@Mountainlady16 Well ... not using birth control is certainly a way to grow your numbers but as those children grow and assimilate into society there is no guarantee they will stick with the church. And the Bible ... uh, it has been changed, reinterpreted and revised many, many times over the years.

@StevetheSleeve not really very few people leave our church and in the other denomination especially among women it's even less.

@Mountainlady16 Well, I wish you nothing but happiness and fulfillment. But could you maybe put in a good word for me at the pearly gates because I have a feeling they're going to be tightly locked for me.

@StevetheSleeve also BTW the sbc is still one the largest Christian associations and the largest Baptist association in the world.

@Mountainlady16 They have been experiencing a decline in memberships and baptisms for years.

@StevetheSleeve because people want to follow the world's belief of allowing women preachers and Gays I'm sure.

@Mountainlady16 Yeah, that and other things maybe. This is why churches evolve. When the collection plate or tithing starts suffering they adapt.

@StevetheSleeve we cannot let modern beliefs change us however.

@Mountainlady16 Even though I don't agree with your exclusionary rules and subjugation of women, I do respect that you stick to your beliefs, rather than adapt to changing times. Because when you adapt your beliefs your validity suffers.

@StevetheSleeve right we don't subjugate women we have our place in our church as teachers on children and women's classes. As keepers of the home and even missionaries
