Practical view....

Drag queens and story times for children isn't necessary.

That's the bottom line.
You don't have to agree, many others don't understand it either.
It doesn't mean it's hateful. Phobic or whatever else you want to label people who don't agree. Its healthy to question anything that goes against the grain, is it not?

Also, if so many are questioning it, then evidently it's going to be very difficult for society as a whole to be able to accept it as the norm.

Life is confusing enough in this crazy world for little humans to live in.
They don't need more confusion added to the mix.

I don't quite get the reading time. I don't care about drag at all, have fun. I don't think I'd even think about taking kids to a reading event with drag queens. Just wouldn't be on my mind. I could care less about whether people dress up in drag. It's usually for fun and harmless.
