How to stop getting notifications to topics without hiding them.....?

A topic that I found interesting is now becoming a crap shoot with people insulting each other and arguing. I don't want to hide the post since it's not the issue. I just want to stop getting notifications.
I tried changing settings and find I don't get the choice to NOT receive any notifications.

In the notifications you receive, do you see a "Stop" button located at the right side of that notification? You can just press that.

Alternatively, you can enter the post page and deactivate the notifications here:
