@Keepitsimple yes I agree. They do things to make themselves look perfect to the world but what goes on behinds the scenes is a whole different story. The queen set strict rules for women, no hose, no colored nail polish except clear or natural pink, no crossing of the legs, rules for clothing etc. I am sure Miss Markle was well-trained in royal rules and protocol long before she got married, and she could have excused herself from getting married at any time before then. They are the head of a “firm” that has their fingers in a lot of pies. One of them is SERCO that Prince William is the head of it. They have security contracts with our government, military & private corporations. They have video cams that they monitor buildings etc....a bug on everything they monitor so their nose has been in our business for a long time. That’s just one thing that SERCO does. It is frightening what they are capable of.

@cherokeepatti I couldn’t live like that. Tradition is one thing but when you are no longer relatable to the world around you you are useless which is why Diana was so loved. She was relatable and brought attention to things that really mattered. How they dress, sit and who they marry shouldn’t matter if they are doing good for the institution. Maybe Charles would change that but he’s odd and scared of his own shadow. He’ll be like Biden and rot away in the castles.

@Keepitsimple The family members born inside of the royal family are trained from the time they are toddlers about public appearances. It’s like they are born into captivity and may not know what true freedom is. Everything they do has to be approved by the queen I’m fairly certain of that. I would hate that kind of life. The Queen is in her 90’s she was trained that way and her stuffy rules are nearly 70 years old.

@cherokeepatti Did you watch the crown? I imagine what we saw is really it. Harry is the only one who will talk about it...because that’s how it all went and goes down. I love him, the fact that he thinks for himself and is such a rebel like his mom makes me adore him.

@cherokeepatti the Queen has a duty to the nation she understands that as do those that will succeed her and to a certain extent she has modernized the royals, but there are limits that tie her hands.
Royals are expected to carry themselves in certain way. Whatever the duty is you are doing you are representing Her Majesty, the country and the nation. Being a Royal is a job a hard job, you have no privacy, no private life you belong to the country and the nation. If the press etc write nonsense etc you are required to turn the other cheek and get on with it. You cannot retaliate it is not allowed. As for not having a role they do a lot that people don't see and don't hear about, for charity, bringing business and revenue in to the country.

@Longleggedlady It’s like a corporation and they are making a huge amount of money off of the royal system. The queen has more land under her possession than anyone else in the world, which gives more opportunities to make money.

@Keepitsimple I read an article about one or two relatives are insane due to inbreeding. Judging from the posts and comments by UK people it appears to be most of the population there except those they have brought in from other countries recently.

@cherokeepatti you are talking about the crown estates the Queen doesn't actually get that money it goes into the countries revenue, she only gets a small part of it to run and fund a lot of things

@acpguy somebody carried a gene that made them have Down’s syndrome or something that delayed them but who knows...could be inbreeding LOL.

@Keepitsimple Prince Philip’s mother was a schizophrenic. The queen had cousins that were put in an institution and hid out of sight from the public.
