I Need Somewhere To Vent, Without Fear Of Judgement

I am in so much pain it is almost unbearable and no one can help me until Medicare approves or disapproves the MRI my Orthopedic Surgeon ordered!! I can't take anything for the pain until after I have had the MRI either!!

Update: I will be having an MRI on Tuesday! Thank you for all your prayers and kind wishes.

Update: I have had the MRI, X-rays of knees and hips and a lot of bloodwork. Still no answers.

Next will be some nerve tests (EMD) and a visit to a rheumatologist.

Update: The nerve conductive study was done yesterday. I am waiting to hear the results as soon as the report has been written.

Update: I got the results back from the test on Monday. It was great news. My nerves and muscles are all working properly.

Update: I was able to get an earlier appointment to see the rheumatologist on the 4th of March! That is good news.

I'm sorry to hear that you are in so much pain, it must be difficult and frustrating for you. Do you have such thing as a TENS machine over there or similar?
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@pennynoodles I had a treatment this morning at Physical Therapy. It helped the pain for about an hour.

I've never used the TENS machine myself (apart from to feel what it did) but I know it can be used in labour and is recommended to help with pain that won't go away, particularly back pain. I'm sure it's been suggested to you already though. You buy the machine and keep it attached to you with sort of sticky pads that emit a mild (or you can turn it up) electric current. @SweetMae

@pennynoodles My husband has one at home. It mostly helps with muscle pain. I have nerve pain.

Ah okay. Nerve pain is more difficult. @SweetMae

My husband once trapped a nerve in his back and could barely move out of bed. His brother was getting married and he struggled to make it. He drank some alcohol during the day (and took pain killers) and as the evening went on, miraculously the pain eased. I think he relaxed as he became intoxicated lol. By the end of the evening, he was dancing. Neither of us could quite believe it. Not that I'm suggesting you do that of course 🤪

@pennynoodles I will try anything at this point!! 🤪
