If someone told you, that there was a terrorist organization micro dosing their food with toxins to ultimately cause cancer,

Are there circumstances under which you would believe them?

With all the microplastics, pesticides and shìt we eat already do we even need "terrorists" for that?

Don't threaten me with the status quo

@Elessar well, what we are dealing with due to big companies and consumerism, many people get lucky and live their lives fully anyway. But if an individual part of a group wanted someone to come to their end much quicker, what if they just add a little extra herbicide here and there. A little extra of anything specifically cancer causing. Doesn't seem so unrealistic to me, if a killer wanted to kill, but not get caught.

@Notsimilarreally But that's the thing with cancerous substances, they can elevate the risk but they're never a 100% sentence. It's difficult to assess how much consumerism is killing us also because we don't have a reliable baseline to measure.

I know of people who worked daily with asbestos without PPE and lived to 90+. Likewise, there's people who died with mesothelioma and don't even know when they've ever been exposed. Other carcinogenics work the same: people who chain smoked for 60+ years getting to their 80s and people who have been healthy their whole lives dying of cancer at 30.

@Elessar yeah that's all true.

But if someone is ingesting, and touching on their things, a certain amount of herbicide (let's say though it could be another chemical) (higher than what's in stores) every single day, with all that they consume in their home....I mean are they going to live to 90?

@Notsimilarreally and to add to that, daily ingestion mix, the target was also poisoned with a higher dose of something that caused significant liver damage before the daily ingestion started. So their liver can't exactly process everything normally.

@Notsimilarreally I'm not sure but I guess asbestos has a comparable if not greater cancer rate than e.g. glyphosate and there's definitely people who were unaffected

It's a Russian roulette basically
