Israel vs Palestine - why so rude!!

Have you noticed that while Palestinians are considered barbaric and Israelites are considered highly educated and developed, when it comes to a simple debate on social media, those against Israels mass murders are trying to use reason and those in favour are using slang and calling names and throwing abuse! What a contradiction - wonder why!! 😏

The US didn't permanently occupy or build settlements in Japan or Germany after WW2. That would have been a violation of international law. Israel ihas been in violation of international law for more than 50 years with the occupation and settlement of the land seized in the 1967 war.

@GrinNude Japan and Germany surrendered, accepted Allied occupation, and democratic institutions. Slight difference…
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Bumbles Those differences are irrelevant. Israel still in violation of international law and UN resolutions.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@GrinNude You made a comparison and I showed it was specious. Stick to your UN point if you like. Your WW2 analogy is nonsense.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Bumbles It may be nonsense to you but none of this is nonsense to those who have been living under occupation without human rights for more than fifty years.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@GrinNude The analogy is nonsense. The allies killed as many innocent people in one day as Israel killed in 6 months. Believe as you wish, that’s fine. But your historical analogy is just wrong.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@GrinNude we should not compare the US of WW2 with the Israel of the Gaza war.

The Israel of the Gaza war is more comparable with Germany of WW2.

@WandererTony How many German citizens were killed by Jews, again?

@WandererTony You can’t logically lop off the reason Israel invaded Gaza because it doesn’t help your argument. Justifying Oct 7 because of what happened in 1948 is morally bankrupt. For you ilk, the Hamas attack was “guilty with an explanation.” And you’re lecturing me about morality? That’s a laugh.

Your attempt to co-opt the word “pogrom” is a new one. Ironically, if not for the actual pogroms and European anti-semitism there would have been no need for an Israel.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@Bumbles No, Oct 7 cannot be justified. It has to be condemned in the strongest words. It was barbaric, inhuman, blatant act of aggression and terrorism.

Terrorism is a cancer that needs to be eliminated by surgery, medicine and prevention. And for prevention, the root cause analysis (RTA) is a must. Please do not read that as a justification of Oct 7.

Now how about a RTA of the 206 day war where Israel has almost unilaterally caused all the death and damage. You know the death and injury count. I will just add that 150 Palestinian towns and villages are depopulated forcefully. And this is where an ulterior motive peeks through. Also this:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/netanyahu-brandishes-map-of-israel-that-includes-west-bank-and-gaza-at-un-speech/

So it is naive and may I add “selective blindness” of the pro Israel people here to assume that Oct7 is the one and only cause for this mayhem.

As for calling it pogrom, a dear friend here has been using the word liberally in her anti Palestine rants. So I thought why not alter perspective and give it a new look.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@WandererTony Thank you for acknowledging the horror of October 7.

Absent October 7 there is no invasion to destroy Hamas. It’s war, and although Israel is expected not to try destroy its mortal enemy, that is what is being attempted. No protests will change that. Let me help you understand, even if you don’t agree. That”s okay. When we say “Never Again” it isn’t a request. It’s a promise. If that’s wrong, so be it.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@Bumbles yes this is the pain. Israel is a hyper nation. It is paranoid about getting wiped out by its enemies, though they know very well, that Palestine has no army and no resources to be any match to Israel firepower. Nations co-exist. Israel believes in sole existence. But has champions like you who defend land grabbing, killing children, raping women all because they have an excuse call October 7. But conveniently blind to Israel‘s larger plans of occupation even after I sent a link from an Israeli website, showing Israeli motive from the river to the sea.
“Never again” is an attitude that brings fears of holocaust when said by nuclear nations. The right to defend excludes such an extent of collateral damage.
And i respect the American youth more than their parents.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@WandererTony You seem confused. Israel was working on a peace deal with Saudi Arabia until Hamas destroyed it. It has peace with Egypt and Jordan. It wants to be left alone. The horrible acts you describe are what Hamas did. Their sole purpose is to destroy Israel, but you call Israel paranoid?

You would not allow Israel to go after those who killed 1500 of its citizens. That’s a bizarre attitude. You also seem incapable of having an adult conversation. It’s no wonder you admire spoiled children.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@Bumbles I can see what is bizarre and a debate will not change that. 30x collateral is ok and children dead don’t matter for adult conversations !!
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@WandererTony It seems the only war where children are killed is in Gaza? The double standard is astounding.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@Bumbles so many have hardly ever been killed in a one sided bombing like this. It’s “never before”
As for your “never again”, I can assure you a significant part of the orphans you have created in these 200 days will seek revenge.
We will meet in these pages in the years to come and count the price of Netanyahu’s ambition and greed for power 😊🙏
