It is said that it's better to have lost and loved, than to never have loved at all. It doesn't help mend the wound that the lost one unwillingly left, though. The gaping hole where once used to be love and joy, now filled with only longing and regrets.

But there is truth to that trite statement. What we have left are memories, dreams, the feelings we felt. They still live on in our hearts and minds, and that's what is most important. Even though their crossing took such a toll out of us, they still left that ''something'', be it physical mementos or the best of memories, behind, something to dull the pain of their loss. And as long as we remember, as long as we still dream, they will always live on. I'm sure you know this already, but...

It doesn't make it hurt any less. And that's why I hope that you can find the strength to carry on, no matter how agonizing the pain might be. That's why I wish you the best of luck, so that you may one day find someone to fill that void of lost companionship and love. If you'd ever like to talk or vent, I'd be glad to lend an ear. Sadly, that's all I can do.

I hope you have a wonderful day ahead of you. That you could find solace from these vexing thoughts.

Those are irreplaceable and losing a best friend is hard, it's like losing a part of your self that will be forever missing.

Some days I really feel the loss but I really try and remember you with happiness that you were a part of my life. I miss what we had...was missing him today whilst watching the cricket and remembering the days before smart phones. He didn't have internet access at work so would email me to give him score updates.
I love telling kids stories about the uncle they will never know,
