@Elessar But currently, the rate of mutation is too high for us to develop herd immunity. Like the flu.

@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere No actually, from all the scientific papers I've read so far it seems that acquired immunity in the largest slice of the population is protective against every mutation/strain found until now. The flu is a completely different beast.

@Punches A lot of far more important money generating events than Christmas have been canceled already, lol, money flow won't stop diseases from spreading in this universe. At most they (govts?) can decide to care even less about it than now and do like Brazil, keep everything open (including mass cemeteries). It's not guaranteed that most people will keep spending, on the other hand, if they don't feel safe.
