Something racist happened to me today that was weird (not against me). A guy called me in response to a ad I have up, for caretaking but more so personal assistant type of work in his case. He asked my ethnicity which caught me by surprise, and when I said Caucasian/white he said "even better". I do not know what he was comparing to, as in better than what. He was middle eastern and told me about living part time in UAE and here in the Bay Area. He had a heavy accent

@Notsimilarreally that is definitely weird. But maybe a cultural difference where it’s not perceived as rude to ask? Idk lol

@SwampFlower likely, or he didn't think it would be offensive to me because he was favouring my type? Who knows. I worked for an ooooold old school woman from china once who only wanted white caregivers.
