I Remember My First Kiss

My first kiss was nothing special. I was 15 and at a disco with some friends. A guy sent his friends up to ask me if I'd kiss him and I thought sure why not i'm young and might as well have a bit of fun. So I kissed him and it was surprisingly natural and nice. I didn't stay in contact with him and I have no regrets. It was a fun night with some nice people. :)

I was 11, and it was divine, a girl named Yvette who lived the block over. Like Stephen King said in Hearts in Atlantis, “It was the kiss by which all the others of his life would be judged and found wanting.” Nothing has ever matched that first kiss, but it was the early 70s, the hippie days were still gong strong, and everybody was mellow, especially the girls 💙
