no matter how big or small

as fascination is introduced
to innocence by the meeting
of quickening blinks

there's no greater wonder
to the softness and curiosity
laced with fear from a creature
who knows no pause
for it would be wrong to clip
or cage the magic eye

(I was completely and utterly amazed that this little guy allowed me to catch him and hold him in my hand. Sure he was pretty ticked off and trying to bite me, but he was stuck inside the chicken coop. I thought I'd save him from a chicken chickadee chase and set him nicely and tenderly in the stack of hay. As luck would have it I went back to check on him after saddling the horses and the damn cat was having her lunch...😫 I guess some things just aren't meant to be. Sorry little buddy, I tried)
