Anyone else hate their English Teacher?

In school, we have to do Membean which is something you do that includes building a vocabulary. One, we are NEVER going to use any of these words, EVER, Two, we are supposed to do 120 minutes a month, I did 100 due to computer problems and I TRIED to do it on the due date, but she gave me 0/100.

I think I at LEAST deserve an 80.

I am a retired English teacher. I do not know anything about the system you name, but I do know an excellent way to build a vocabulary.

Studies I've read about indicate that you will remember and use a word comfortably, both orally and in writing, if you repeat this word three times a day by using it out loud, conversationally, in a sentence. It also helps to handwrite it a few times as well.

It's better to pick words from your own life and areas of interest but..
Oh, well...at least you're adding vocabulary tools to your mental writing kit.

Enduring difficult, demanding or picky teachers is great preparation for all the difficult, demanding or picky bosses or or other people you might have to work with eventually.
