What's the obsession with quick replies?

Noticed a lot of people on the dating scene seem to be focused on this and even strangers in my comment section pick up on it which is even sadder.

I don't anymore. I'm a Early born Gen X that was spent most of living most of childhood living with the silent generation.

So I'm kinda out of touch what's really going on.
