What's the obsession with quick replies?

Noticed a lot of people on the dating scene seem to be focused on this and even strangers in my comment section pick up on it which is even sadder.

I hate the expectation for quick replies. One of the best parts of communicating through text/words is that you have more time to be eloquent. People tend to rush everything these days though.
