I'll talk to people who are supposedly interested in me but the moment they want to meet I disappear. Why? Doubt they'd want me anymore in person

I'm no catfish and I use updated photos of myself online but I just feel they'd change their mind if I actually showed up. They'd probably go ew worse in person or god bigger in person.

Really? So they know what you look like (for real!) and they want to meet and you ghost them :( Thats sad, for everyone involved honestly.

@Pherick At first I'll think cool that sounds great then the fear, dread and anxiety set in. On second thought I'll just stay home.

@IAmNothing I am sorry to hear that. It would so bum me out to meet someone, be into them, AND like their look and then get ghosted. Plus you miss out on someone cool maybe???
IAmNothing · 31-35, F
@Pherick Yeah it's true for both parties but just trying to shield myself from rejection

@IAmNothing Do you ever just say "No I don't want to meet?" If my choice was meet and lose you, or keep it online and keep you .... keeping you seems the easy choice.
IAmNothing · 31-35, F
@Pherick no i never say because i don't want to reveal my reason for why being i feel like you wont like what you see in person

@IAmNothing Well I am now going to be your online friend forever :P

@Pherick youre pretty brave huh

@IAmNothing Brave? I have been online WAY too long to be scared of much :) I surved AOL dialup and chatrooms, the age of A/S/L ... not much scares me.
IAmNothing · 31-35, F
@Pherick i remember dial up and asl

@IAmNothing I met lots of people online on dates, from the very normal to the very weird. Loved them all, people are so interesting and I always enjoyed the interactions. From purely online to long term relationships. Always enjoyed the world of people online opened up.

@Pherick any really memorable ones?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@IAmNothing Lets see.

1. I met a girl who wanted to double date with her sister and her bf. Totally fine, I get meeting a guy off of online can be scary. Date was nice, but she was so quiet, barely said anything. Her sister and BF and I chatted, we dragged her into it, but barely got any words out of her. After the date, I figured that was it, she wasn't into me, but she was chatty as all hell online again, and she had a great time, we went out more, but she always was so shy in person.

2. Met a lady who I played a game with online (way back in the early 2000s) and we decided to go out. I got to her place, she opened the door, with just her head in the opening, we said Hi, and she opened the door, I walked in, and she shut door. She was topless. Never acted like it was problem, never really said anything about it, we ordered takeout, watched TV the whole time she was topless. That was an odd date.

@Pherick First one sounds weird more like a friend material than dating material. The second one I would probably leave because of the weirdness of it all.

@IAmNothing I figured she did want to be friends, but we went out a few more times, it was odd. She was so sweet, but so odd.

Though I guess #2 was pretty odd in her own way, I think that was the only time I ever saw her :)
