That Perilous Part Of Dating...
...where they meet your friends!
Date 7...or whatever.
Ollie's been over all weekend, practically, and my mate Mai has come over for a lovely Sunday lunch.
I'm pretty cool with a roast chicken, so that's been doing, alongside some roast potatoes (the trick is to part boil and then roast in a lot of hot fat), some mash, carrots and broccoli. Yum!
I'm one of those people that doesn't like interference in the kitchen...my kitchen...so, we bang out some of my tunes - some Taylor, some Kelsea Ballerini, some Sabrina and some Kylie - whilst I'm doing my thing.
Promoted to Tea duties, Ollie is getting to grips of just what makes a good brew...and, at one point, leaves the house to go to the shops to buy some more Coke Zero! The boy is running me out on it!
Anyways, Mai comes over. Ollie's a little nervous and goes in for a bloody hug. I see Mai's face, like, "WTF ?!?" but the boy is trying.
Chat is good. Both are smiling, no looks of boredom.
Ollie takes out the used and now - empty plates and Mai mutters "He's quite nice, Flic." before he comes back in.
Stays a little while longer and the has to go.
I'll see her later, of course, but nice time together.
He likes her too.
That's good.
🙂
