Ummm, literal street address he doesn't need to know, but neighborhood and line of work/neighborhood you work in matters. He would be trying to judge if you live too long distance to have a successful relationship. Could indicate he had a past relationship involving a hour or two long communte both ways and doesn't want to do it again. Which is fair.

He doesn't need any of that information and it probably would be best not to say. That's pretty personal question for starters and a red flag for me. Guard your safety first and foremost.
