No, but I do check the local court system files. One person who was interested in me had two court protective orders against her because she had stalked and harassing former boyfriends. Another had an ex-spouse who was arrested and had his guns taken away for threatening and harassing a guy she had dated.

@Stephie It is very, very sad. And this is a subject for a post in itself (and may upset the gun enthusiasts), but the current status of the law, is a fairly recent development. There was more than a hundred years of legal precedent saying otherwise until a Supreme Court decision in 2008, District Columbia vs Heller, (decided by a single vote 5-4) holding that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess firearms.
