Do you think it's okay to date if you were recently suicidal?

AlchemyFox · 36-40, F Best Comment
That's up to you and how you feel hun.

When I was in the process of getting better I thought I needed someone, I didn't want to be alone. (I don't have family though.) The truth for me was, I was just using others as a distraction from facing myself. I wasn't even able to really care for them because of the destructive thoughts I had for myself. Now I'm through it I'm ecstatic to be alone.

Also, my last bf committed suicide. I could feel it when we were together. I thought he hated me in the end, maybe because I couldn't save him.

I'd think on it, what is truly best for you? Wherever you are on your journey, dating could help a lot, or might make it worse. And there's the other person to think about.

There's always just trying. It could be a learning experience. A step on the way to feeling well.

Good luck.

The person who you date might turn out to be the reason you keep going on and living your best life ❣️

Sure, if you want to be more suicidal.

It's sort of like an inverted Russian roulette.

Also depends on a lot of factors.

Fix yourself before you date.
