Having High Standards

In the dating world the most common conversation is High Standards.

Majority of the people that ive seen complaining about high standards are men, they’ll talk about how women want a rich, fit, good looking guy.

I’ll just start off with, not all women want like muscular guys. A lot of us actually prefer chubby guys (because they are the best to cuddle with). Also we’re not all about looks, we will settle for like a medium ugly guy.
My main thing is the rich part, we’re not asking for you to have like alot of money. Financially stability is important, not just in dating but in general. Like if you were to marry someone, you wouldn’t marry for their money, however it wouldn’t be practical if you were the only one with money.

Another thing is like how some people (mainly men that I’ve seen) they’ll tell people to have lower standards just so they can have a chance. My personal opinion on that; it’s GREAT to have high standards, always want the absolute best for yourself. Never lower your standards so that ANYONE else can get a chance. Because 9 times out of 10 that person is not the one for you.

ALSO, with high standards you cannot be hypocritical. What I’m saying is if you hold your would-be partners to a certain level; it is expected that you meet those standards as well. It’s like a mutual exchange. This goes for like everyone.

Being realistic as well; what i mean by being realistic is if you are looking for the perfect woman or man on sites and apps like this. Keep in mind that there are slim chances of you finding that particular person here. So maybe look other places, or dont be like too disappointed to see that not everyone meets your standards. Mainly though, if you find someone you like and you do not meet their standards, do not take it personally. All that means is you are not the person for them and vice versa. It’s not a personal attack. It just preference. So dont be butt-hurt just look for someone who’s standards you do meet.

@campfireandstars i agree that being healthy is essential but the rest of what you said is completely biased and bigoted. Body positivity is important, it’s a major part of self love; loving one’s self as they are. Body positivity goes much deeper than weight, it has to do with height, scars, stretch marks, skin color, and ect. Basically anything that typically society deems “unattractive” when it comes to certain features of the body . Body positivity isn’t just for people who are “fat” or overweight. Also you implying that women are simply made for child birth is beyond sexist and misogynistic. WOMEN ARE NOT BABY MACHINES. We can do everything men can do and more. I’m well aware of what high standards should be about i don’t need a lecture on that, i was just debunking what certain (most) men think women’s standards are.

If you didn’t understand I recommend you go back a reread

@littlelia lol i wish you luck. no point in replying. that wall in your 30's will come faster then you know.

If there’s no point in replying, then why reply? I have no intention of ever having children and never will. Tubes are tied for that reason. That and the fact that I’m not romantically attracted to men, makes it impossible for me to have kids.

@littlelia this was never about you. Me saying no point in replying was your pov. Not here to argue. We have a difference and with time comes wisdom.

@campfireandstars apparently not in all cases though.

@littlelia correct we agree sometimes and others we don't. This is life. All each of us wants is to not be alone. How we get there or not is how we treat others.

@campfireandstars I agree, even though that has absolutely nothing to do with the original topic.
